So what are you looking at? A bank in Pakistan and the UK set up by Saudi Intelligence to do dirty deeds for Pig Empire fascists and the CIA. Unfortunately for them, they got caught... using depositor money to pay operating costs and not investing it.

No chances are, you've never heard of them, and if you have, all you know is the last part of that scandal. Well what if I told you that the CIA admitted to having multiple shadow accounts at that bank, on the floor of the Senate, and eventually we found out they were funding certain aspects of the Iran-Contra operation out of it? That this same bank also maintained accounts with tons of shit tier villains our intelligence agency would be caught running later? Like say, Noriega?

Please keep in mind that a certain dynastic presidential family of renound importance at the time had pretty tight ties to both the CIA, and Saudi intelligence, and OMFG they were knee deep in Iran-Contra too? Isn't that so weird?
But again, what they told you is "corrupt bank taking depositor money" and that's what the politicians railed away against on TV.
That's how it works. They tell you, but they don't tell you, and they make sure the focus is very much on the wrong part of the story.

@AnarchoNinaWrites funny, cuz the then VP's dad had been a banker for... the nazis. and quite curious he was not thrown in jail. his bank was closed down though. so how did he fail up? by being the GOPs money guy in Connecticut and then one of its US Senators. fuckers always got caught and always got away with it.

@AnarchoNinaWrites Yeah, back in the early 2000sies, when I was still trying to be a liberal--we all make mistakes, right?--I remember being absolutely chilled to the bone when, shortly after 9/11, George W. Bush referred, in his shockingly phony "Texas" accent, to "Are Frins tha Sawdees." The obvious follow-up question was asked of him by no alleged journalist, namely, "just exactly who is in the first person plural to which you referred?" and the obvious next question, "Just exactly which Saudis were you referring to?"
I suspect that all the people in both groups were personally known to W, and numbered under 300 in total.
