@wdlindsy it's been easy to see the problem. It does not offer any deeper insight into a solution, though. I once thought I had one to avoid this kind of future, but that was a different era now (2007), and that path is closed, too.

The statements of many of our fellow citizens that the Constitution simply does not apply to Donald Trump (or to them and their families as they support him) are eye-opening. Those making these statements are far and away more than the MAGA segment of the population.

William Lindsey :toad: (wdlindsy@toad.social)'s status on Sunday, 24-Dec-2023 00:39:33 JST William Lindsey :toad: For Americans concerned about the future of democracy, seeing the reaction of many of our fellow citizens to the Colorado Supreme Court's determination that Donald Trump fomented insurrection and is not eligible to run for office has been something of a Christmas/holiday gift.
It's yet another decisive unmasking of who many of us have chosen to become at this moment of history. We need to know that a sizable number of us flatly do not believe in democracy any longer.
