   @tappenden in this scenario, this probably is the expected result as they are not a valid threads user yet.

   the custom bottom sheet to pre-follow them on threads isn't something we can port over through activitypub

     @0xjessel “@threads.net” didn’t get appended to the mentioned user here.

     I fhecked in Threads and got a message saying they’re not on Threads but I can follow them in case they join. So presumably the same should happen here, eventually?
