One thing I do every year is to listen to the live broadcast from King's College Cambridge. The one choirboy singing the first verse into the silence is magical to me. The first verse of Once in Royal David's City. There is a documentary on YouTube about the choirboys and this performance. Several boys prepare to sing the opening verse. One is chosen on the spot when they go live for the broadcast.
@amyedge @OldTallGuy how about you Amy?
@danielmrose @OldTallGuy I did think that you might say whatever the choir master has chosen for the services. 🤫
@amyedge @OldTallGuy can’t wait to check that out. Mine is O Come Emmanuel.

I'm not much for traditional Carols, I prefer songs like "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas", the Eagles' "Please Come Home for Christmas", John Lennon's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" are more my speed.
A while back a group called the Fab Four put out an album with carols done in the style of the Beatles songs, I thought it was a fun and clever take on those traditional tunes.
