   Today may have started terribly, but it’s ending a lot better, all the little things that were wrong with my car have either been sorted, or will be after Christmas, and for an affordable price. Phew!

     The only downside being that my phone plays what ever TikTok video sound I’m listening to over the phone when I answer it, so Dave my mechanic was treated to “what happens when 30% of a townare lesbian?” Befoee I could cancel out of the video

     I get there, he’s replaced my brake pads, a tyre and a suspension joint, tells me he needs to replace the bearings in the front passenger side wheel, I ask how much I owe him, he says “aah, I’ve not figured it out, it’s in my book I’ll let you know after Christmas. It won’t be that much so don’t worry”

     So far he’s stripped my engine down and replaced some gauzes that cause an oil pressure problem, cleaned the DPF twice and now this, and hasn’t accepted any money off me yet.

     At my estimate that’s over 11 hours of work and £200 worth of parts. I love living in a small community where I’ve offered my skills out and get help in return.

     @IanThistlethwaite he often doesn’t charge me for small jobs, and accepts “pay what you can when you can” so I trust him when he says “it won’t be that much”

     @BethanyBlack do you like that? I'd hate that. I wish everything that has a price would just have a clear label of it's price. I personally hate the riddle of trying to find out how much things are. Makes me anxious

     @IanThistlethwaite yeah, I think he is. I helped him out with a few things this year, it’s absolutely not like any business relationship with a mechanic I’ve ever had before
