     I'm not gonna dump on the OP because for all I know he's right, but also, man, "I'm gonna use the CentOS of social media and I don't care how it looks or feels" is such a bleak attitude.

     Like, y'all hate Papa Johns, fine, but then y'all just sit around eating dry crust and feeling sad. Throw some toppings on there.

     @mattly @tess Look, if you really want sauce, all you have to do is grow the tomatoes, garlic, onions, and peppers from seed; dice them with your hand-forged kitchen knife, and cook them over the dying embers that once were your local Papa John's. It's not that hard.

     @mattly@hachyderm.io I find a computer running Linux or another desktop OS easier to use than an iPad but the difference is I know that's because I have an extraordinary degree of familiarity and muscle memory and I grew up using CLIs and desktop interfaces that expose the underlying system, not because it's actually 'easier' (which is subjective anyway, at least for the interfaces of roughly equivalent systems).
     
     I wonder how many people in FOSS have a strong enough aversion to mainstream equipment with more intuitive interfaces that they never learnt why they are accessible.
