@neil i can't help but think if account portability on the fediverse was better, this wouldn't be any more major of an issue than using a phone number tied to your carrier

of course, that is if ISPs/carriers ever *do* implement something like that. since, well, ISP providing internet services other than just "access to the internet" is pretty old fashioned :P
