  @deshipu my excuse is in order to maintain compatibility in Fennel with older versions of the Lua runtime that don't have a utf8 library, (outside my control) no idea what these other people's excuses are

  @deshipu also somehow afaict Raku is the only language that correctly interprets ½ as a number? come on people!
