     @kaia ai is the precursor of mp4 and mkv, a very inefficient format for video basically

     i did an experiment of exporting a short animation on avi and mp4, and avi is like 5x heavirr

     xvid i think is thw codec for avi

     @kaia .avi is a video container format without too much complexity and Xvid is a free video codec; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xvid?useskin=monobook
     
     You can play such .avi's with no problem with mpv, so you can continue to enjoy freedom.
     
     If you don't like .avi, just run; ffmpeg -i "${video}" -c copy -map 0 "${video%.*}.mkv" and that will losslessly remux to mkv.
     
     
     .avi is still a useful format for storing raw video in, as lossless video codecs work in it nicely, allowing meme videos to be made with the minimum amount of quality loss.
