     I don’t disagree, but instance federation is not IRL and people claiming that capitalistic incentives are separated from the “real economy” need to get a grip.

     Yes, inhumanity should not be acceptable and words are important.

     Hashtags are computer code.

     Computer code has become embedded in lingua franca between neighbors.

     Egalitarian, citizen-driven, humanitarian change starts between neighbors.

     Neighbors whom you federate with.

     The annoying centrists and moderates who are also suffering, consciously or not.

     Punch a Nazi, sure.

     They came from somewhere, permitting bloodlust and suffering without offering an escape is also inhumane.

     Again, I agree, except that the blood is already of insufficient distance now.

     The cloud, corporate, and marketing #infrastructure still subsidizes / enables all of this independent #shortwave radio.

     I struggle to grok a vision of the open-source #Fediverse as a place which demonstrates its values to those who most need to see, hear, and read anything about it…by defederating.

     There are grown adults, and technologists, who have developed values, skills, and knowledge of a digital world in which adults are dangerous.

     I think defederating Meta comes from a place of fear, not strength.
