   every time I click on a soapbox instance it takes like 45 seconds for the page to load. How do people tolerate this

     @RustyCrab @mischievoustomato Newer versions of Soapbox are compiled with Vite instead of Webpack, and they have hundreds of tiny little files (possibly thousands?) which supposedly is a lot more efficient to load for HTTP/2 and better for caching.

     @mischievoustomato I use a 2 hop VPN so I do have increased lag time HOWEVER this is no problem whatsoever on pleroma. That leads me to believe soapbox just has very poor batching.

     @RustyCrab i use it daily and its fast, i use google chrome though
     it only takes a couple secs to load on first start as well

     @alex @mischievoustomato idk when I get home I might take a video. This is with the caveat that, no, this is not a great connection but the difference in load times is quite extreme.
