   As the Biden Admin prepares to potentially ban or restrict asylum, a reminder that asylum is legal immigration.

   There's no "port of entry" requirement.
   There's no "visa" requirement.
   There's no "first country" requirement.
   You enter the United States, and you apply for asylum.
   Because asylum is legal immigration. Period.

   Period.

   I opposed Trump's asylum ban. And I will oppose a Biden asylum ban. Because my standard is justice, not political expediency. Asylum Is A Human Right. Period.

     @QasimRashid amazed that USA never speaks of the UN 1951 Refugee Convention spearheaded by USA )and ratified by USA in 1967. It’s the law in USA. https://www.unhcr.org/about-unhcr/who-we-are/1951-refugee-convention

     This convention applies only to true asylum seekers and not economic migrants and a receiving country must quickly process arrivals to determine e if true asylum seeker or nut and se d back those who are not. Illegal entry is integral as only way fir many to escape closed countries like Soviet Union, North Korea etc
