   I believe in freedom of speech as a right in the Constitution including its limits. I think Claudine Gay will do her best.

   But I also think Elise Stefanik wanted to undermine higher education, especially at Harvard which has rejected her for election denialism and insurrection support.

   Harvard can improve. Stefanik isn’t the person to tell them how. Two things can be true.

     @TonyStark I probably need to say, once again, that it is my desire to see Jewish people, Arab people, Muslim people, Israelis, and Palestinians, in whatever combinations they identify, living peacefully in the land that is contested as Israel and Palestine. No one killing anyone else over it, no one subjugated by anyone else.

     @TonyStark Ruth Marcus wrote a good column about the three presidents and free speech. I don't agree with everything in it ("from the river to the sea has always sounded pretty genocidal to me and the group in West Philly was also chanting "from water to water, Palestine will be Arab" and what is that supposed to mean for Jewish people living in the Levant?)

     Overall, though, you can agree that Gay got the testimony wrong and also Stefanik is acting in bad faith.
