@tokyo_0 @kshah @srijit @mastodonindians I don’t think it’s the politics. Social proof and network effects are especially strong in India.
@srijit @mastodonindians i don’t think there’s a silver bullet. from my failed experience in trying to move friends and family across,
1. the inertia to stay on the traditional platforms is too high. it’s too much of a hassle to move.
2. they’ve already built their follower base on other platforms. the dopamine hit of regular engagement is more readily available there.
these are isolated observations, though. one can’t say how significant these factors truly are.
