What absolute cunts some workshops are, holy fuck I'm nearly thinking legal action.
Can anyone mechanically minded spot the kind of a big deal problem here?

@DudeNamedBenNamedBen they've left something important unplugged. Would need a lot more context to take a guess as to what, but there's very little in the engine bay you can just unplug without consequences unless you're re-flashing the computer
@Sophistifunk good try but nope, bigger deal.
Fine metallic powder all over the engine, some dumb cunt was grinding a fuckload right nearby. Throttle body and rocker cover breather valves left uncovered.
If any of that shit makes it inside it's rebuild time.
I'm absolutely livid. Fucking cunts did this on purpose because I took the job off them.
This is a 3UZ as well, nearly impossible to find these days.
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen oh shit I see it now. 3UZ isn't DI is it? Why are the breathers just left open like that? You're gonna have to take the valve covers off and hose 'em out just to be sure.
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen you don't want the forbidden glitter getting inside.
@Sophistifunk they were off because it was being used for an engine conversion going into another car. After 9 months of them having two disassembled cars with no progress I had jack of their bullshit and took it all back.
Going to tape openings up (wiring loom already stripped off), air compressor blast the outside, then pressure wash the outside, make sure none is left to fall inside when I take off the valve covers and intake pipes and pray I don't see glitter.
@Sophistifunk 3UZ-FE isn't DI, it's a 2006 engine, old school injectors.
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen the way the good lord intended.
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen so, like.... where are you putting the 3UZ? Gonna boost it?
@Sophistifunk An IS200 I first bought over 20 years ago, I like old Lexus.
Can't boost it, with the current ADRs the capacity to weight ratio means no boost for me if I want to keep it road legal.
Chipped and proper exhaust though, it's going to be plenty fun.
Very much like this, if I ever get it done now... why is the modified car scene full of such fucknuckles.

@DudeNamedBenNamedBen it can't be over by *much* it's a 4.3 right? Destroke it for max revs, then boost the shit out of it ;-)
I always wanted to do something similar with an old IS.
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen fuckin cunts. Need some spark plug ceramic in the front window I recon.
@thadius @DudeNamedBenNamedBen that doesn't work on windshields I thought?
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen everything is filled with fucknuckles :(
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen you gonna pimp out the IS and make it back into a luxury cruiser it was supposed to be, or is this mainly for racing?
@Sophistifunk @DudeNamedBenNamedBen it'll chip them for sure. I was thinking mechanic shop window.
@Sophistifunk yup, a 1UZ I could boost and get away with it, but I wanted a proper V8 burble, big low down torque...
Destroking is rebuild stuff, I'm having a hard enough time finding competent people as it is to do mildly easy fitment work, let alone that.
@thadius @DudeNamedBenNamedBen ooooooh right that makes way more sense.
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen fair enough. I bet the skid factory lads can recommend someone around here, but I dunno where you’re at.
@Sophistifunk It's been my daily for most of the time I've had it, want to have it as a super fun daily driver.
Old IS is cheap now, 4kish, if you can find a 1uz it's a great project car.
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen I need a shed. And I’d go for an LS, you can’t beat the size, the weight, the aftermarket support, the tears of purists, and definitely not the noise.
@Sophistifunk Tassie, but seriously, I'd consider somewhere on the mainland as long as it's reliable.
Benny's custom works on YouTube has done a V8 IS200 before as well...
Might consider contacting them if I get pissed off enough...
@Sophistifunk I bought a unregistered GS430 for this, local mechanic mate helped me register it, drove it for a few months before handing it over to the fucked workshop.
Highly recommend.
smoooother than the proverbial, features out the wazoo for a 20 year old car, radar cruise control for example.
@Sophistifunk you do need a shed, every strayan needs a shed...
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen if I'd known it would become basically impossible later in life, I woulda bought some property back in the 2000s.
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen @Sophistifunk You'd have to try hard to get that much metal all over an engine. Like chunk of aluminium and grinder over the top of the thing hard.
I read the rights to a guy who had my Supra for three months and had done nothing. 3k cash. Was quoted 2-3 weeks. He finished it in two days. Told him I'd been in contact with the ACCC and wrote him a letter of demand. Said the next step is them calling him to work out what is wrong. Closed his shop and vanished a week later.
@thadius @Sophistifunk what supra by the way? I used to have a MK3 before the Lexus, early 2000s, never should sold that thing.
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen @thadius my dream is a mk3 project. Since I gave up on the 240z dream.
@thadius @Sophistifunk nah, don't want to be a spiteful cunt back, was thinking just going to tag that photo on their google maps presence, but I'm not even that spiteful.
Was thinking about legal action though, mechanics would love that even more than broken windows, something they are completely unfamiliar with.
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen @thadius if it works out you’d be the first.
@thadius @Sophistifunk hmmmm.... Sounds like contacting the ACCC it is...
@Sophistifunk @thadius bought mine for 10k in 2000 with two broken engine mounts, two broken steering rack mounts and a blown head gasket, fixed all that, brilliant car.
Black with digital dash & Targa top, sold it to buy the Lexus, couldn't buy it for for 50k today. Terrible investment decision. Should have kept it.
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen that’s nothing, I used to own a HJ Monaro, sold it for like 4 grand 😂
@DudeNamedBenNamedBen @Sophistifunk its a JDM mk4 TT, was converted to single turbo, found a front main hanging on by ~1mm during 100k service so built it for 1500 at the crank. Needs a harness and some minor fab work and it'll be back on the road. 1k+ at the rear wheels and low 9's street car is the goal.
I like mk3's, wish I had space for one. Huge Toyota fan. Have an 80 series (soon to be turbo) and an 86 daily.
Should've bought more 5k n/a supras n JDM stuff ten years ago :/
@thadius @DudeNamedBenNamedBen good to see a ✌️
@Sophistifunk @DudeNamedBenNamedBen one on every car ;) have their valve caps on the soop and a banner on the shed wall. Huge fan of those sick cunts too! Mate in Sydney is friends with em, I'd love to meet them one day and bring my 10 year old son, he'd love it.
