   Essential reading re: #Trump, his evisceration of #language, why we see the same #media people who are perpetually shocked (but shouldn't be) by #fascism, which then gets normalized. It's difficult to choose an excerpt to introduce the piece b/c it's all so important and chilling but the piece ends with this: "If you have transgender kids, or you're transgender yourself, you've got to try to leave the country if Trump and the fascists win."

     "Day One" obviously isn't a literal day. It wouldn't be possible to do the things he's laid out in one day. "Day One" is a biblical day, and denotes the period between his election and his tearing down of the entire conditional system.

     The end of Day One, therefore, is not defined and likely ever-receding.

     Listen to him.

     And he lies. Does anyone for a moment imagine that it will avail anything on Day Two, when he has CNN shut down, or Rachel Maddow imprisoned, or mosques closed, to say, "But you said 'Only on Day One' "?

     "..the media is still insisting on believing that Trump does not mean what he says. Trump always means what he says. Trump is going to come after me and other people who have been identifying the danger and telling the truth about fascism. For ordinary citizens, as long as you don't say anything about politics, you will be fine. For immigrants, it will be truly horrifying"

     This just seems like more scare tactics to divide Americans. If I had believed 'When HIllarly Clinton Wins there will be a Taco Truck on every corner" I would have voted Clinton, but I'm no fool. I voted #Castle

     @cindyweinstein @GottaLaff all manners of people may have to leave, especially scientists. There was once a program to arrange political refuge for persecuted scientists during the Bush years. That may have to be brought back and expanded. Amusingly, of the few I did know who had left the US thru that at the time, most chose Amsterdam to resettle to ;)...
