     To get my BC updated, I had to get vaginoplasty, an affidavit from the surgeon, and a fucking COURT ORDER.

     What the fuck more do they WANT?!

     @dakkar There is no law in the UK that lays out how to establish legal gender for someone without a British birth certificate.

     @ryanc@infosec.exchange this tweet has just been pointed out to me. It notices that the Republic of Ireland is not on the list of approved countries. Which means that, if that law were to pass, a trans person would change legal gender every time they walk across the RoI/NI border

     @ryanc all the fucking US states they listed as acceptable are refusing to even issue or have outright banned or are trying to ban gender recognition

     They are outright trying to ban us. And this is foreign policy so I've called my US rep who's involved with UK foreign policy and isn't anti lgbt. I'm hoping to cause problems on this side of the pond and hope it fucks up trade talks fuck the Tories

     @dakkar It's legally ambiguous, and it could in theory be disputed - a cis person could be forced to prove that they're cis - but this was always true.

     @Vallaferescense The UK has no clear way to establish a legal gender for anyone without a British birth certificate. UK visas and passports do not represent legal gender.

     Mine UK says I'm female, which I'm not, and never said I was.

     @ryanc I'm from Illinois and now we are exploring other eu countries for a new facility at work. As of just a few mins ago after I saw this.

     We are an Illinois company and kinda take offense to this stuff. I will not respect anti trans bigotry. Especially not when it directly targets me. Like how tf would I even be allowed to go to the uk with this passing? Like half the team wouldn't be able to get visas

     @lexi That information would be protected from disclosure under the UK's Freedom of Information Act on the grounds that exposing it would create a chilling effect which prevents them from freely being bigoted assholes.
