     There is also the downside to this from a Free Software perspective that the more gratis capitalist SaaS platforms act as though they respect users' privacy the more users will continue to use what they are used to versus having a reason to try out something new like actually freedom respecting federated services like Freindica. And that also adds to the increase of those of us already using such services "Why would I download CONVERSATIONS to have an encrypted chat over XMPP/Jabber just to talk to you? Why don't you just download FAcebook Messenger like everyone else?"
