In John 8, after writing, it says "Then those... being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last."
I like to think, as He did so much, he challenged their hypocrisy.
If "caught in the act" why did they not bring the man for the stoning? Had they too engaged in the same sin?
Jesus was a master at getting to the heart of the matter.
