I have a question for anyone willing to answer seriously and thoughtfully...Where do you see the US, near term, as far as social and political stability?

The states are increasingly divided and the federal government isn’t seemingly interested in the needs of the people.

While I would like to believe leadership would have clearer heads but as I am aware and many others these guys have divided loyalties. It would just take any number of stand offs between entire states to escalate a situation. Even getting the wrong man in the executive branch could trigger military instability.

Now, that's not to say the most extreme of the fascists won't try something but it won't last because it can't last. Whatever it is that they want, they don't want it bad enough to carry out a sustained offensive against the US military.
