How #Germany uses Mastodon to develop sovereign, public social media:

1) The State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information for Baden-Württemberg is running a Mastodon server:

2) The server houses official accounts for several cities, universities, even fire departments!

3) Some of them have shut down their Twitter/X accounts due to the direction it has taken. For example, the city of Pforzheim:
