   @bri_seven Extremely well put. Thank you for sharing that. Your observations and sentiments here aren’t just overlapping with my own but they capture a lot of what I’ve been making an effort to do more of in the last few hears: go beyond the mockery phase and really spend some time with the inconvenient yet illuminating truths about some of the most terrible bad-faith actors alive.

   Because what I find myself getting closer to seeing and accepting is how horrific the cycle of pain is and how patriarchy has a major role in encouraging people to weaponise their pain and inflict more on others.

   A chasing of a sociopolitical dragon, if you will.

     @theauracle it made this click for me too: what exactly is so troubling to me about the concept of rape revenge movies or, the parallel slavery revenge film django unchained; they imagine the only obvious recourse for the victims of colonialist patriarchy is to turn the tables, reverse the roles. these narratives play into the current fears from some quartere that even naming “colonialism” is inherently a threat of violence against white people
