   Ban waves exist because it makes it harder for cheaters and botters to realize what changed or how they were detected. If you ban them immediately they'll just keep trying until they figure out how to circumvent the detection system.

   You stagger things out and they learn nothing about how you're figuring out who they are.

     @Rasp This, this is an important fact few people understand. Honestly I wish it was more widespread because on some MMOs I get more annoyed by people always complaining in global chat than by bots
