   To give more background and info and status update:

   Currently trying to schedule a joint meetup of VanPy and Vancouver PyLadies for Dec 15.

   Past venue said no.

   Checked with Vancouver Library. Costs 310$, but needed 14 days notice, also has weird requirement about "must be private event, cannot be advertised online" 🤨

   Looked at Community center. Room available but 30$ + tax per hour. We got nobody footing the bill.

   Got a lead for a possible venue but unconfirmed. 🤞 (seems promising though)

     Finding it difficult in Vancouver trying to host community meetups post-pandemic. Local companies don't seem to have meeting space for us anymore, or reluctant to host us.

     PyLadies Vancouver doesnt have bank account. We couldn't just say "let's take 300$ to book a room in library so we could have a meetup". But instead, I have to write tons of back and forth emails asking for a company willing to host.

     I'd really prefer spending my energy to build community instead of begging for a venue 😢
