   The fascists love to demonize queer ppl for "making everything about sex" or "making their gender their whole personality" but every time I go to a queer event I am struck by how precisely they have this backwards. Cis society is profoundly sexualized, and literally every interaction is pre-coded with assumed gender. In a queer space, you purposefully never make assumptions about who someone is or what they're up to, so interactions are much *less* coded by gender and *less* intrinsically sexual

     Like merely existing as a woman in a cis bar is a gauntlet of dealing with cishet men acting out their expectations of cishet gender roles. The *only reason* a man would talk to a woman in the cishet bar is to hook up. You do not get the moments in queer spaces of "hello who are u what is up" that amount to a basic assumption of humanity before shoving it into some repressive institution of gender and sexuality

     Its like that one Lauren boebert x Dave chappelle tweet a few days ago: "just a couple of people who know there are only two genders," like why are you so obsessed with us, its sad you cant have one interaction that isnt oriented around reifying your vision of what everyones junk is for. We are just hanging out and its y'all that are trying to bring on a christofascist ethnostate to write assigned gender into the law.
