   There is a mind boggling collection of great #opensource desktop apps for #linux.

   For example, I am looking now into #synthesizer and #daw type tools to get into programmatic music making. It will take some time to sort out all that is available and learn a good subset.

   In comparison the #android offering on #fdroid is rather underwhelming. There aren't many mobile apps that I would think of as "amazing".

   Not sure exactly why that is. The potential with billions of potential users is real.

     Maybe its because android is relatively recent. A lot of the more complex apps on linux have already decades of development under their belt.

     Maybe its the limitations and/or constraints of the platform with its #ndk and #java apis and various sandboxes.

     Or maybe its just a generational thing and those now developing for mobile are less attracted to #foss ideals.

     In any case, its a pity because the potential for reaching many people is much greater in mobile than desktop.

     @phiofx androids problem with music and sound is simple.It sucks big time. With so many different combinations and manufacturers and versions of Android it will never be like it is on iOS with its tightly controlled ecosystem. So people simply don't bother
