     @critical it turns on, the motherboard and fans are all going, but no video, no POST, no beep. I have tried switching the video from the main video card to the onboard and hdmi to displayport

     @critical before the shop the motherboard was bad so we replaced the motherboard completely. the old one wouldn't even stay running

     @Moon a beep is not made on all motherboards.
     Check if the monitor has the correct input selected. If it is, try with a different cable.

     @Coyote @critical it didn't show up until I fiddled more with the buttons on the front of the monitor, I wonder now if it were the monitor the whole time. it does take a LONG time to boot to efi

     @Moon @critical Did it POST? My system takes several minutes to POST after starting from a cold boot; I'm pretty sure it's the GPU as the debug light stays on "video" for most of the time.
