   @bill0004 @joesteel @lisamelton Surely people are buying Fire TV Sticks just so they can root it and install some non Fire TV apps these days as it is a Android hard fork.

   It won't be for long though as they're transitioning to an in-house OS codenamed Vega where it'll be even more locked down and more ad strategies. https://www.lowpass.cc/p/amazon-vega-os-fire-tv-android

     Amazon Fire TVs have found a new and annoying way to slap you in the face with ads - The Verge
