@Saber@ImperialAgent@branman65 That said I do think it is bad to think of fapping as a bad habit. It is a sin. That said it is definitely downstream of many other issues. #nofaplife and #nowifelife are probably not simultaneously achievable outside of literally exceptional exceptions. And we are in a busted society that favors the latter and doesn't have wars or adventure to make up the difference.
Mr. Lewis is in a more optimistic era though, where our society has been degraded immensely by letting womens demands "improve" us, but I think he is still correct technically, as the growth and wisdom we need to attract women is real and still out there, but where fathers SHOULD have taught it, you would need to seek out game people to learn it. Smart ones, not the grifters. And I am 100% certain he is right that fapping hurts that growth, or at least engaging with smut and fetishes that are not properly manly.
But, I think it is foolish to rage specifically against fapping given how interconnected it is. I don't think you are totally wrong to call it a bad habit from a mindset perspective: it is a sin. You should not do it. It damages your growth. BUT, like many sins, you're going to do it anyway. You'll beg forgiveness knowing full well you don't have it in you to resist it three weeks later. Someone smarter than me can find the passage of the Bible where the dude laments sinning despite knowing he shouldn't. You cannot beat it through sheer force of will. So laser focusing on the act is missing the forest for the trees. You are correct that a wife is the answer, you need to escape #nowifelife to reach #nofaplife because your contradictory biological urges will win out in the long run.
That said Christianity is not easy mode so until you can solve the Gordian Knot puzzle you should still aim for the impossible standard as an ideal and a dream. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oo7VlD66ISM
@branman65@ImperialAgent@Saber I think it is trivial to accept that it is given that we know what is the natural intention of sex and the incentives it created with regard to our biological nature. It would be hard to have an exception for that and not beastiality.
(Ignoring Onan as I think it is very fair to say he had a lot of aggravating circumstances that were his more obvious errors)
