   remembering when Noam Chomsky went on RT to defend Russia's annexation of Crimea by saying basically "this is just like if the US annexed Cuba"

     @big_louse I have not spoken to him in about two decades from his choice of moral cowardice in regard to the Shac 7 trial. Even Stallman, of all people, who clearly did not understand the issues at the time, personally apologized to me, if years later once he finally did. Chomsky did have deep awareness at that time and yet chose to retain the privileges of personal political safety.

     @big_louse he was simply in full ostrich mode trying to be as hidden as he could be, while the iww was the primary driver for support of the shac 7. That's an amusing way to think about him, though ;).

     I think you can tell how old someone is on the 'left' by when they realized Chomsky is a Moral Coward, for me it was when he signed a later absolving Bashar Assad of War Crimes, and later I learned he's been doing that kind of thing his entire career

     So was chomsky just silent on the Shac 7 case or did he make some boot-licking statement?
