How many years until laptop makers just stop including chargers and cables in the box? With the claim being “everyone uses USB-C for charging now, so you can just reuse a charger from another device”.
@PhenomX6@mike@amerika Meanwhile, the Eww wants to enforce USB-C on every single device. Yet another reason added as to why ancient laptops are superior over the current year consoomer toys...
@PhenomX6@mike@amerika You mean USB-C? Because I had experience like that before. Hell, the cable PinePhone ships with is like that literally out of the box, so I had to buy another cable to fix that.
@PhenomX6@mike@amerika@TerminalAutism@ryo I converted my company's laptops to USB-C-to 5.5x1.7mm connectors. Turns out, I was able to buy 130w USB-C chargers and 100w cables in bulk for far cheaper than buying a stock of replacement power bricks. I'm really enjoying USB-C PD so far.
@anornymorse@mike@amerika@TerminalAutism@ryo I've seen this mod done to ancient laptops too, or X220s just because you can walk into any store and find PD chargers/cables as opposed to some barrel plug for a ThinkPad that's old (and then borrow a friends charger).
