Well. This is super super annoying. On Monday night all I wanted to do was to complete an assignment while working on my mantis Q 40 and use my phone without my braille display. So I turned off Bluetooth. After that I started having signals on my phone that my braille display was still connected. When I finally turned it off. At this point I still had my on screen keyboard. This was Continuing until about the evening hours of tonight. When I started more troubleshooting to try to get the phone to stop acknowledging a braille display when it was not connected. All of my troubleshooting just made it so that I no longer have my on screen keyboard. I have hard reset my phone multiple times, powered it off multiple times for more than 20 minutes, I have deleted my mantis Q 40 and NLS E reader from my braille settings in accessibility, I have deleted them from Bluetooth settings, I deleted my phone off of Bluetooth settings on both braille displays, I have turned Bluetooth off on both braille displays, and turned Bluetooth off on my phone. With all of these features I still am having My Phone register that a braille display is connected and I have no on screen keyboard. I have turned voiceover off multiple times during this entire process. I cannot even reset my settings or reset my network settings because I get no on screen keyboard for the number pad. I had the same exact issue several months ago and with all of the troubleshooting I did with Apple With several weeks of screenshots, screen recordings, and multiple phone calls and emails, the only solution they could give me was to reset all settings. This has caused more issues on my phone with messing up notifications for many many apps. I do not know if this is my phone or an extreme bug in the software. When this first originally started happening it was on iOS 16. I am now on iOS 17. I do not know if I should have the patience to call Apple tomorrow because they will just have me run through the entire process again. When looking through my settings on voiceover, I scroll down to braille, it names my mantis Q 40. If I click into it though the only options at the bottom of the screen that I see are searching dimmed and in progress. I am very very confused on why My Phone keeps doing this. My only choices at this moment are to dictate messages if I choose not to reconnect my mantis Q 40 or do audio messages. I am very adept at editing anything with dictation but it is still annoying. I currently have an iPhone SE 2020

Connect the braille display, open a text field, and then with the text field still open, turn the braille display off and wait. The keyboard should then show up.
