@Uilebheist @rrb Very much so. He's more like Orban, Johnson, or Trump than anything else. (Only: he's an ex-special forces officer, fought in a couple of wars, was shot during a hijacking rescue operation, masters degree from MIT while simultaneously studying at Harvard … so he's not only a deeply corrupt fascist politician but an educated, violent one.)

My older son and his tween daughter spent a couple of weeks in Israel in July. They talked to a lot of Jewish and Palestinian Israelis, and got the impression that a large majority of the population did not approve of Netenyahu.

@rrb @Uilebheist Not even that: he's never got a clear majority mandate for his leadership, but he builds coalitions with anyone he can bribe (by pandering to their special interests). Israel is at least as polarized as the USA; half the country hates him, but they're locked out of government.

And I guess he convinced the Israeli public that he is their violent fascist who will violently suppress another race.No wonder he and Hamas became co-dependent.
