   Do you mean when you logged in on the old account, the list wasn't working properly?

   That's possibly because you can only list people you follow, and if you've transferred your follows that would affect what appears on your lists?

     Ahhh the list of tags rather than a "list" from the Lists feature?

     Gotcha.

     So, people would have to check their list of followed tags before the initiate the transfer?

     @feditips When I was logged in to the old account, trying to access the list of followed *hashtags* (hamburger menu -> "followed hashtags"), it showed up as empty. That instance is on Mastodon v4.2.1.

     When I tried using the "toot" CLI tool (which I had set up previously) to list my followed tags, I got an error back to the effect of that my account was deactivated. (Reasonable, in a sense.)

     Account follows and followers seem to have transferred mostly successfully. A few are still pending.

     @feditips Something like that; what saved me was that I had an earlier (not completely up to date, but recent enough to serve as a starting point) saved list of the hashtags I was following, which I was able to import. I didn't find any specialized import feature for that so I ended up using "toot tags_follow" for each tag. Either way, it should be copied before starting the account migration process.

     Ironically, I even list hashtags myself in https://michael.kjorling.se/blog/2023/back-up-your-mastodon/.
