     @Sophistifunk If you mean "road use taxation", in most countries it is done by charging percentage of gasoline sales, heavier vehicles will typically use more gas so it is automatic. Cars that drive more around will pay more, automatically,... no need for some extra by the weight or performance taxation. As for purchase tax - fairness means identical percentage of the price, no progressive scams.
