   Today I read the richest 1% in the world create more carbon emissions than the poorest 66% of the world.

   The richest 77 million people, “the polluter elite” earning over US$140 000 (£112 500) per year are responsible for more carbon emissions than the poorest 5 billion people on the planet.

   Their excess is staggering to me. It has stuck with me all day. My carbon footprint is too high, theirs is astronomical.

     @BroadforkForVictory The interesting thing for me, as a Norwegian, is that a significant portion of my fellow countrymen are a part of that 1%, but they don't believe that themselves. The 1% number can actually become a shield for them, they feel that they are not that rich, it's those other people who are the problem, the rich people, not just an ordinary person like me.
