Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 (ned@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Sunday, 26-Nov-2023 08:49:54 JST Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 @urusan the way I would do it.
Day = 12 hours
Hour = 12 moments
Moment = 12 minutes
Minute = 12 seconds
Second = 12 ticksComparing to the current system.
Hour = 2 hours
Moment = 10 minutes
Minute = 50 seconds
Second = 4 1/6 seconds
Tick = just over 1/3 of a second. -

charliebrownau (charliebrownau@poa.st)'s status on Sunday, 26-Nov-2023 09:28:10 JST charliebrownau @ned @urusan If your willing to re look at the system
The year is actually 13 months
1 day = 24 hours
7 days = 1 week
4 weeks = month
4 x 13 = 52 weeks
52 weeks = 1 year
Then we can re look at the Old World Information
that leads to our current year is actually 5998
not 2023 -

Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 (ned@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Sunday, 26-Nov-2023 09:28:10 JST Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 @charliebrownau @urusan month is a naturally defined length. Day is a naturally defined length. Year is naturally defined length. None of them line up properly. I would just ditch the idea that a month = x days altogether.

Urusan (urusan@fosstodon.org)'s status on Sunday, 26-Nov-2023 09:34:00 JST Urusan @ned Why not give these new units different names to differentiate them from the old system?
Second and minute in particular come from the degree-based rotation system that the use of base 60 comes from.

Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 (ned@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Sunday, 26-Nov-2023 09:34:00 JST Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 @urusan could can't be bothered thinking of any. I like the length of moment and tick. Feels right to me. Moment is like the length of time it takes to sit on the couch and drink a cup of tea. Tick is like the speed of taping on the table with one hand.

Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 (ned@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Sunday, 26-Nov-2023 09:59:59 JST Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 @charliebrownau @urusan first day of the month = new moon. First day of the year = winter solstice (in northern hemisphere). January could start on the first day of the year, could start on the 27th day of the year. Whatever. Some years will have an extra month that will carry over the new year. Undecimber.

charliebrownau (charliebrownau@poa.st)'s status on Sunday, 26-Nov-2023 10:00:00 JST charliebrownau @ned @urusan I would rather go back to the OLD WORLD Calander
4 weeks = month
13 months = year
it lines up with the solar and earth cycle better
no day light 'savings'
no public holidays -

Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 (ned@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Sunday, 26-Nov-2023 10:04:18 JST Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 @charliebrownau @urusan I expect to keep things consistent in this system you would have to schedule things by the week of the year, not the month. Traditional holiday dates like 25th December would be completely messed up. Would have to be held on day 359 instead.
In second thought maybe let's just leave it as is.
