     Sure, brainwashing students teaches them something about being subjected to indoctrination, etc.

     Compelling speech sounds like an idea your run of the mill fascist could get behind.

     Coercion? They've hit the trifecta.

     I think this has nothing to do with any of the above. Here's my theory, for free:

     Teachers can't teach. They're incompetent.

     It's easier to have an hour of hate then teach algebra.
