     @sickmatter something like, calling on Hamas to release the hostages? I think that's already the official policy of the Canadian government. We're also giving financial aid to the government of Israel.

     @sickmatter is the Canadian government letting Hamas stockpile weapons? I don't understand your point. This is a petition to the Canadian Parliament, talking about actions our government can do.

     @sickmatter oh, you mean, like having a ceasefire. So, I think many people who support a ceasefire think the brutal cost in human life and the utter destruction of Gaza is not outweighed by the possibility of eliminating Hamas -- if that's even feasible. So, the result of 2.3M people having, food, water and shelter seems like a plausible possibility.

     @evan they are actions that would only have the plausible result of letting Hamas rearm to continue their mission of killing all the Jews. Kind of like declaring a ceasefire on covid.

     @sickmatter there are some people who think the best outcome would be the death or expulsion of the entire population of Gaza. As you can tell, that loathsome plan is entirely unacceptable to the world community.

     @sickmatter I think very few Israelis support the depopulation of Gaza. Unfortunately, the people who do are over-represented in the Netanyahu government. One benefit of a ceasefire would be giving Israelis the time to work out which government they really want to deal with this crisis.

     @evan and there are far more who would prefer that from the river to the sea, no Jews allowed. Shall we paint the entire Muslim world with the actions of a minority? Or is this only allowed when we’re accusing Jews of all being right wing extremists?
