Where do the questions come from, that occur to us in the middle of the night when a heavy footed cat has woken us up? Apart from 'how can a cat that small sound as if she's wearing army boots coming up the stairs?!'
Last night's special was 'can other trees be used for dendrochronology, or only oak?'
And since you're now wondering, not all trees are suitable, but some others e.g. pine can be used - but the records derived from oak go back furthest.
And now, on with the day's actual work.
