   the city sent us a letter saying that someone will come and check our water meter. but if we want to prevent them from coming, we can also take a photo of the meter now.
   
   that's a strange way of asking us to take a photo.

     maybe it's smart psychology-wise
     "we will come anyway, but if you don't want us to..." is probably more effective than "please take picture until XX"

     @kaia @methyltheobromine I guess ours is more trusting, we get to type the ID and current state into a website, no pictures needed. Though they can ask for someone to check if the numbers are vastly different.
