   In today’s installment for Trans Awareness Week, a little bit on the shapeshifting that trans people go through to transition.

   Some of the things we do are purely for aesthetic purposes.

   Other things like surgical interventions are for distancing ourselves from what we look like… so we can feel comfortable and right in our body.

   Other things we do are for safety purposes.

   Not all trans people follow the same path or do all the same medical, legal and social changes for transition though. It is far from easy, and in almost every aspect of it; physically, socially, emotionally… rather painful.

     @SleepyCatten @WrenArcher Yeah, for me, mechanical epilation was an absolutely terrible choice, leading to folliculitis and scar tissue that trapped my hairs subcutaneously. Happened on my tummy and my legs. No fun, for sure.

     I'm presently debating between professional laser and IPL for my legs.

     @WrenArcher Having tried an IPL device, I'm much happier with an epilator on my arms and legs 😅

     I'm aware that others prefer IPL over epilation though.

     @WrenArcher I'm glad someone's showing this. There is so much focus put on HRT and various surgeries, but those are just parts of a much bigger world of things we do for our transformations.

     For example, every week, I have to grow out my facial hair so I can go to electrolysis. Every week I have to see the thing I hate the most, only to then get a few days off from seeing it while I nurse the post-electrolysis symptoms. It's just relentless.
