    I don't know whether to appreciate the centuries of ingenuity it took to create the complex machinery needed to make a cup of coffee, or to call this whole thing pointlessly autistic.

      @pleasesaybye Dude in the second video is explaining all the reasons for stuff. Yeah it's a big "autistic", but it's no different from any chemistry process you'd do in a lab. I thought it was neat that he started with the "bloom" and adjusted temperature down. Funny to see them use "mineral concentrates" with distilled water, when normal people add a dash of salt for similar effect. I'm there's more extraction potential starting with deionized water and the potential to slightly influence what you're absorbing from the coffee with mineral pH adjustment. Neat, but not worth doing for a regular cup of Joe of course.
