It's bad enough to expect someone to work until they're 80 yet refuse to hire them after they turn 50. It's worse to attach healthcare to their job or Medicare, yet ignore those who fall between 'too old to hire' and Medicare-eligible. But it's a whole other thing to saddle those same people with the burden of caring for family members with Alzheimer's simply because they don't make enough money to afford care. How much does the middle class have to suffer before we say ENOUGH?

Think about how many 60+ people who used their bodies in construction, etc. to make a living there are. They are worn out and can't work anymore. They don't have office skills or temperaments. In so called right to work states, they often didn't make enough for much savings, so until they can get SS and Medicare, they're effed.
And in most places, SS isn't enough to survive on. If you have a spouse that also gets SS, when one dies, the paltry income is cut in half. Things are bad out here.
Extinction Studies
Medicare for all, and don't punish anyone who wants to retire early or needs to. Social Security when you need it and want it.
The question isn't "how much we have to suffer" it's "when will we wake up and turn the system right side up, and not take no for an answer?"
