The scale and scope of the violence in Gaza has made excruciatingly clear just how little Israel’s government values the lives of the Palestinian people. It’s brought the apartheid system into focus in a way nothing else has in my lifetime.

There’s no pretending anymore. The oppression and asymmetrical relationship are in full view of the world. Israel must change.
