   Why do people still use Chromium-based browsers (specificially the ones using Blink engine) when people have become somewhat aware that it's a detriment to one's privacy and that whenever you browse in "incognito", the ads yet still end up being relevant?
   
   I could expand that argument to Windows, which does often phone home (foreign addresses can be seen with command-line tools).

     @fuzzylinuxuser it's not dumb, look at other fields and how fucked they are because of people from the golden days wanting to screw everyone else
     
     And look at how much we can't repair now. It's not over but it's going to be very difficult to repair what we've done. We can't just all collectively get together Disney movie style.

     @kirby@lab.nyanide.com That logic is kinda dumb, but it does unfortunately explain many things, beyond just Windows :neofox_googly_shocked:
     
     Even better, I've been a longtime Windows user until I had an awakening after getting in touch with Linux and since then I've never looked back
