     @a7 maybe for you it is, but not for me, for me ive met dozens of true, lifelong friends on fedi, and my soulmate and best friend and partner, and ive met so many wonderful people and traveled to so many cool places to spend time with these people, and its genuinely improved my life both internally and externally in the 7 1/2 years ive been here

     @40 @vriska I largely lost interest when I realized it was a toilet on purpose, some boards just descended into trolling and spam, but then mods would delete in seconds, particular types of threads they didn't like. it wasn't unmanageable, the way it was was a deliberate choice. the mods quietly shape how it is.
