people keep asking what's the deal with the cat and i just wanna say
this film is not supposed to be literal
that's it
i won't say anything more than that
also the reason i am secretive about the idea we had behind this work is because raushan told me she don't wanna discourage interpretations. death of the author and all that
@Kyresti it's a brain and the other one is a human heart
and also it has symbolism, the cat especially
@mynameistillian Lol naw you're being -way- too harsh on yourself.
For $15 and an iPhone that's honestly really damn impressive.
But... what does the cat have to do with anything? And is there some significance to the food? IDK what they're eating or if there's something there not readily apparent outside of like Kazakh culture, but the noodles-as-entangling is a nice touch.
i think i should brace for impact everybodys gonna be killing me for it being cringe or low quality
@Kyresti but like i mean it's a bit of abstract. our prof told us to try to tell a story without using a line of dialogue. so we decided to go the abstract route
@Kyresti the black cats are seen here as unfortunate too but i don't want to discourage other interpretations!
@mynameistillian In that case I'm lost. In the west, black cats are either bad omens or witch's familiars (for literally the same reason. Thank Christianity for that one.)
But you got me curious. Like, I can tell there's enough going on that I'm reading into -something-, even if I'm not sure what.
@mynameistillian It’s not shit, it’s great!
