   I think a big part of Apple's appeal is reducing the pressure of choice. if you by default can ignore 99% of other products on the market and focus on the 5 different iPhone models and 5 different colors, your mental burden to choose is greatly reduced versus having to select a phone by detailed technical comparison, reading reviews, comparing prices and so on.

     @kaia thats why steve jobs only wanted one model of everything. or, well, two in the case of the desktops (home and office versions.)

     @iska imagine you enjoy cofe, but you have no idea about cofe. now the CofeCorp company is known for very good cofe machines that are expensive, but many people say they are good quality and make yummy cofe. a lot of people will get a CofeCorp simply because they want good cofe and not because they are interested in cofe machines.

     @kaia It doesn't stop at buying. Because all the hardware and software are from one company, you can expect to be able to plug anything into anything and it works. Plus if they messed something up, *fans* will have 20 articles about if within a week of release. Same with Support articles written especially for your model. It's like the quote about Linux not valuing your time. If you want to have a phone without choices, get an Iphone. For the negative and positive of that statement.
