   I'm not especially worried about Tumblr. I think it will keep chugging along okay.

   We have seen a few extra people applying to join blorbo.social, and I guess other servers have seen similar small surges.

   But it's nothing like the surges we get from each major Xitter fuckup.

     @lookitmychicken besides, personally, I saw tumblr "dying" waay too many times that now it reminds that one meme ""oh, sometimes I can still their voice'' and tumblr being "stop saying that I'm dead!".
     So, tumblr will be fine

     @lookitmychicken we hear about tumblr's fall like twice a year. tumblr was dying in 2018 yet we still sit in that hellsite and post shit there.

     @lookitmychicken tbf, i don't think his answer says that they'll be supporting ActivityPub, just that they'll be doing more interoperability work. maybe they'll try to make some APIs that will make it possible for someone else to write an ActivityPub bridge, but i don't think they'll be doing that work themselves.
